Question: In the Introduction of the Krsna book (paragraphs 3 and 4), the following is stated. (Ellipsis are mine):
“… when the Lord descends, the incarnation emanates from Viṣṇu. … when Kṛṣṇa appears, all the Viṣṇu expansions join with Him. … Kṛṣṇa actually appears in order to demonstrate His Vṛndavana pastimes and in this way attract the fortunate conditioned souls and invite them back home, back to Godhead. The killing of the demons in Vṛndavana was carried out only by the Viṣṇu portion of Kṛsna.”
Does the above mean that Krsna’s appearance is different from that of the other incarnations in that the others emanate from Visnu but Krsna does not? Also, what does “killing of demons was carried out only by the Visnu portion” mean? Is Krsna’s transcendental form, when He appears in this world, to be understood as an aggregation of various “portions”?
