Questions :
In Srila Prabhupada’s 3.1.8 purport “A brahmana, ksatriya, or vaisya will not accept employment for his livelihood under any circumstances” – I have three part question on this statement.
A) I can understand Brahmana and Vaisya, but Ksatriya makes it hard – Ksatriya means only the Kings? Then what about the ministers, soldiers and similar people?
B) Drona, Kripa, Vasistha they were Brahmanas but employed in the kingdom – could you please explain.
C) Also Srila Prabhupada’s statement in other words states that most of them are Sudras, since all take employment.

A) Yes.
B) They were not employed. They were given charity. At any time these brahmanas could have gone elsewhere, freely.
C) Sudras are not independent. This is the meaning.
