Digest 00577: Who Is Giridhari?

Question: Who was Giridhari? What were its main characteristics? Or what were the characteristics of Krishna during this phase of his life? During my childhood I received this name from my mother’s spiritual Guru, who at the time followed his teachings.

Lord Krishna is known as Giridhari because He lifted the great hill Govardhana and protected all the residents of Vrindavan from the torrential rain sent by Indra.
