Question: In SB 3.8.21, it says, “Thus, controlling all objectives, he concentrated his mind on the Supreme Lord.” Does Brahma know about the Lord already or what does he meditate on?
Answer by Romapada Swami: This particular passage is narrating the stage of Brahma’s existence prior to the realization of Krishna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. He is meditating upon the mantra that was given to him, as we find in the Sri Brahma Samhita: the Gopal Gayatri Mantra. After meditating upon his mantra for 100 years, he realized Govinda in His fullness, as well he realized his own spiritual identity.
