Question: In Srimad Bhagavatam 1.6.30: “After 4,300,000,000 solar years, when Brahma awoke to create again by the will of the Lord, all the rsis like Marici, Angira, Atri and so on were created from the transcendental body of the Lord, and I also appeared along with them.”
What does it mean by Rsis like Marici, Angira, Atri and Narada were created from the transcendental body of the Lord? Where will they reside when Brahma went to Yoaganidra? Don’t they go to the abode of Sri Krishna and have personal association with the Lord just like the other pure devotees go? I am confused as to why a liberated soul enters the abode of the Lord to have personal association whereas these Rsis enter into Yoga nidra?
Answer by Romapada Swami: See SB 3.12.21-27. Brahma is the agent for the appearance of all beings. These 10 direct sons were generated to assist Brahma in the matter of sub-creation.
Except for Narada, the others became highly qualified in their present life as Brahma’s sons; Narada attained perfection in his previous life, in a previous day of Brahma. SB describes that he attained a spiritual form at the end of his previous life. The fact that Narada entered into the body of Visnu during the night of Brahma, although perfected, is certainly an exceptional occurrence. This was arranged for service reasons.
They all appeared to assist Brahma’s service, in different capacities. Kardama Muni, for example, became the father of Kapiladeva, but also the father of 9 daughters who became the wives of various parajapatis to expand the world’s population and species.
