Fruits of Surrender Loving Nature of Lord Krishna Reciprocation of Lord Krishna

Digest 00582: Will Krishna Only Save 100% Surrendered Souls?

Written by Romapada Swami

Question:

Will Krishna only save 100% surrendered souls? And will Krishna only involve in lives of those who surrender to him fully (100%)? I mean for anyone who is not 100 % surrendered they will be in full control of maya?

Only when one comes/reaches 100% surrender level Krishna starts taking charge of the life of that person otherwise for those who are up till 99% surrendered devotees Krishna does not get involved or does not puts hands in any of his life aspects.

I have an understanding to the degree one surrenders, Krishna takes charge to that degree -how much ever that individual soul allows Krishna to operate in his life and through him.

Answer by Romapada Swami:

Your understanding is correct about Krsna reciprocating according to the degree and mood of our surrender.

Krishna is very loving by nature. He does not want us to suffer in our conditioned material existence. He wants His children in the material world to return to Him to enjoy with Him eternally. But at the same time, He does not want to force His will on us. He is only looking for our voluntary love for Him.

Consider the case of Putana: she was a demoness, yet her tiny service as a mother resulted in her being elevated to a position in Krsna Loka as a maidservant of Mother Yasoda! The notion that 100% surrender is required to regain our eternal position with Krsna has obvious exceptions.

So, to answer your question, if we are 99% surrendered to Him, Krishna will surely reciprocate to our love and surrender to Him accordingly. It is not that one has to wait to be surrendered 100% in order to experience Krishna’s reciprocation.

Please see below a similar question answered in Digest 13F:

“In BG 4.11 Krishna is referring to the qualitative aspect of surrender, not the quantitative. He reciprocates according to the mood with which one approaches Him. One devotee may want Krishna as supreme master, another as his personal friend, another as his son, and still another as his lover. Krishna rewards all the devotees equally, according to their different intensities of love for Him. The “10-to-1” figures simply informs us that Krishna is *SO* loving, that our tiniest gesture of love is reciprocated from His side so many times beyond ours. This quality of Krishna is universal, extended to all who surrender to Him, regardless of their position on the path of devotion, or their particular rasa even”
