Question: 

I want to clarify which of four pillars of Dharma namely: Austerity, Cleanliness, Mercy and Truth are connected chiefly to which of ISKCON four regulative principles respectively 

Answer by Romapada Swami:  

No eating meat, fish, or eggs – Killing animals and fish for food destroys the quality of mercy. These items, as well as eggs, cannot be offered to Krsna. 

No gambling – Truthfulness is destroyed by gambling. 

No use of intoxicants – Intoxication destroys the principle of austerity.  

No illicit sex – Cleanliness is destroyed by illicit sex.
