Question: Because Krsna is Absolute Truth, there is no difference between his name, form, past times etc. Can you please explain what this means?
Answer by Romapada Swami: The Narada-pancarata states:
nirdosa purna guna grahatma tantre
niscetanatmaka-sarira-gunais ca hinah
ananda-matra-kara-pada-mukhoda
sarvatra ca svagata-bheda-vivarjitatma
“The Supreme Personality of Godhead possesses a perfect, omniscient, transcendental form. The Lord’s body is not material, without consciousness, experiencing the three stages of birth, maintenance, and destruction. In fact, His body is saturated with divine consciousness, devoid of mundane qualities, supramundane, and infused with spiritual bliss; all the parts and limbs of His body are blissful. His body is free from the duality that distinguishes the body from the self, the qualities from the person-it is fully spiritual, non-different from Him.”
In a similar manner, the Padma Purana mentions:
nama cintamanih krsnas
caitanya-rasa-vigrahah
purnah suddho nitya-mukto
’bhinnatvan nama-naminoh
“The holy name of Krsna is transcendentally blissful. It bestows all spiritual benedictions, for it is Krsna Himself, the reservoir of all pleasure. Krsna’s name is complete, and it is the form of all transcendental mellows. It is not a material name under any condition, and it is no less powerful than Krsna Himself. Since Krsna’s name is not contaminated by the material qualities, there is no question of its being involved with maya. Krsna’s name is always liberated and spiritual; it is never conditioned by the laws of material nature. This is because the name of Krsna and Krsna Himself are identical.”
In the Brahma-samhita, it is said that Krsna’s name, form, quality, pastimes, entourage, and paraphernalia are all ananda-cinmaya-rasa – in short, everything of His transcendental association is of the same composition of spiritual bliss, knowledge, and eternity.
There is no end to His name, form, etc., unlike in the material world, where all things have their end. Krsna being Absolute, everything in Him is also Absolute.
In the relative perspective, it is very difficult to understand what is the Absolute. From the material point of view, one cannot understand that one plus one equals one, and one minus one equals one. See the invocation verse of Sri Isopanisad for further explanation of this concept.
