Question: While the followers of Lord Caitanya are in the line of Madhvacarya, some of Madhvacarya’s teachings differ from ours. I have heard, for example, Madhvacarya has a very different conception of sayujya mukti than ours. What is Madhvacarya’s conception, and how do we understand the significant differences such as this within the same Sampradaya?
Answer by Romapada Swami:
Madhvacarya’s understanding of sayujya mukti is found within the attached document.
Just as differences are commonly found in branches of a tree, similarly sakha-bedha (i.e. ‘differences within a branch of a disciplic succession’) provided the core teachings (e.g. “Hari is one without a second”, etc.) are retained from the trunk.
