Digest 00747: Can we do our daily puja after birth of a child in the family?

Written by Romapada Swami

Question: My elder brother’s son & family are blessed with a child and want to know if we can do our daily puja when a child is born in the family. In the past we observed 10 days when there’s a death in the family but this is the first time child in the family and thus this question.

Answer by Romapada Swami:

To the best of my knowledge, the period of contamination doesn’t apply to things like personal puja that you may do in your home, just like you would not stop japa during this time. What do they propose to do with their personal Deities during this period?

For example, SBSST did not have his disciples follow the usual rules after the death of a relative, birth of a child etc. Home deity service must continue. This topic is covered in Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava.
