Question: I want to become a pure devotee of Lord. But I am not able to decide what to do. Living without Krsna even with infinite material opulence is as good as living in hell. Please tell me what I should do.
Answer by Romapada Swami: Thank you for your inquiry and your sincere desire to become a pure devotee of Lord Krishna. Srila Prabhupada has given us the process of Sadhana bhakti in order to make progress in our spiritual life to develop unflinching faith and love for Krsna.
The sadhana bhakti stage is one of deliberate effort and cultivation. A sadhaka has some attraction for Krishna but it is not yet strong and mature. That spark of attachment has to be, therefore, constantly kindled and nurtured by the process of hearing, chanting and remembering. So, the first thing you can do is to commit to chanting a fixed number of rounds of Hare Krishna Maha mantra on your beads every day. Also, seek out association of devotees on regular basis if possible. It is also important to cultivate the habit of regular reading or hearing of Bhagavad-gita or Srimad Bhagavatam etc. All the above Krsna conscious activities are very important to keep one spiritually alive and thereby gradually make progress in one’s going back to Godhead.
