Digest 00691: At the Annihilation of the universe, what happens to Dhruva and Dhruva-loka?

Written by Romapada Swami

Question: It is described in the scripture that Dhruva-loka is an eternal planet. At the annihilation of the universe, would Dhruva-loka still be there [in the universe]? Is it that it would enter into an unmanifested state? Given that Dhruva-loka is an eternal planet, why it is still said that Dhruva will return to the spiritual world when the universe is annihilated? Is Dhruva-loka manifested in each and every universe?

Answer by Romapada Swami:

At the annihilation of the universe, Dhruva-loka will still be manifested. He is in the spiritual world. He did not return to the spiritual world. Dhruva-loka is already in the spiritual world.

Dhruva is not going anywhere else. He is in his eternal abode Dhruva-loka. So is his mother.

In each universe, there is an abode of Kṣīrodaka-śāyī Viṣṇu which is Dhruva’s planet.

I have not read it anywhere that there is a Dhruva in every universe, nor that there is a Dhruva-loka in every universe; in our universe, there is a personality named Dhruva, and he is in Dhruva-loka.

In every universe, there is Kṣīrodaka-śāyī Viṣṇu, and at least in our universe Dhruva is the presiding person within his Visnu-loka.
