Question: Who was Dhruva Maharaja in his previous life? How he attained perfection at the age of 5?
Answer by Romapada Swami:
Visnu Purana describes that in his previous life Dhruva Maharaja was a brahmana. As a young brahmana, Dhruva Maharaja became closely associated with a particular prince, the son of a king, and in the course of this friendship, he began to desire the opulence which the royal family had. Lord Visnu granted him the fulfillment of this desire by becoming the son of Uttanapada.
Dhruva Maharaja was able to attain perfection at a very young age because he gradually became very determined in his goal to see the Lord.
Another very important reason is that he meticulously followed the guidance and instructions given to him by his spiritual master Narada Muni.
