Question: Srimad Bhagavatam 10.85.47-49 indicate that the six sons of Devaki, who were killed by Kamsa, had an identity in their previous life as sons of Marichi, who were cursed by Brahma to take birth in demon families, etc.
Is there a Gaudiya Vaisnava explanation regarding the eight daughters of Mother Saci who died shortly after they were born?
Answer by Romapada Swami:
Professor Sanyal, in his Sri Krishna Caitanya, makes a parallel between Devaki’s six sons and Saci’s eight daughters, which both serve as the prototype reflected in the experience of sadhakas in the process of giving birth to the pure cognitive principle, whose archetype is Sankarsana, Who precedes the appearance of Krishna.
These two Divine Personalities appear only after the subsidence of the eightfold coverings of material nature, the eight material elements, which bar access of jivas to the transcendent.
Those eight elements were personified as the daughters of Mother Saci.
